Author:

Although the author has a website for his writing and another dedicated to computer gaming, details are skimpy. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I did.

Description:

“Mack, Skinny, Navarette and El Tee are Echo Squad, soldiers on the frontlines of the zombie war. Faced with an army of zombies that hungers for all flesh to be eaten their tiny group must survive deadly decap zombies and wicked clever roamer zombies in time for an aerial assault that will change the face of the battleground against the living dead.

Z is for Zombie is an action-packed gun-porn short story in the world of the living dead.”

Appraisal:

If you’re into zombies and shoot-em-ups, this story is for you. Neither is high on my list, yet I found myself hooked quickly and wondering what was going to happen. For a story so short, Hansen manages to quickly acquaint you with his characters, do a credible job of world building, and take you on a quick adventure. A short fun read for zombie lovers and those looking for a quick change of pace.

FYI:

Adult language.

Format/Typo Issues:

No significant issues with typos or other proofing errors.

The current version (obtained from Amazon within the last two weeks) has some formatting issues. As I see it, unless there is a specific need to do otherwise, formatting of the text between chapter headings should use Amazon’s default settings. This story appeared to specify a specific font and may also use right and left justification. The effect was the text looked great when viewed at some font sizes on a Kindle, but not at others. In my opinion, less is more in this area.

Rating: **** Four stars

I like that you include info about formatting; I've read and reviewed some titles where the formatting was an issue, but, as most were galleys, I didn't mention them. I will be double-checking whether or not I am reading a finished copy and likely copying your method in my own reviews.

BTW, I'm always trying to prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse, and I love short stories, so this one will go on my reading list :)
